Your First Visit
During your first visit to Athens Oconee Dentistry, Dr. Nail will ask you about your med-
ical and dental history. He will then thoroughly examine your mouth for dental decay,
gum disease, and conditions relating to the bone or occlusion. Each exam also includes
a screening for oral cancer.

At this time, if problem areas
are discovered, treatment options
and fees will be dis-
cussed in detail. When
outlining a treatment plan,
we will always inform you
of all costs beforehand.
Charges are payable at the
time of treatment, and you
may use cash, check, Visa/MasterCard and CareCredit payments. If special arrangements are needed, please talk to our office manager before treatment is provided.
Prepare for your appointment by making note of any changes in your oral health as well as any pain or problems you may be experiencing. Review the Insurance Information/Financial Policy, Treatment Authorization and HIPAA Form.
Emergency Care
We always maintain room in the daily schedule to promptly handle all emergencies. Dr. Nail believes that with the right dental care, dental emergencies should be few and far between. But if you ever wake up with a throbbing toothache, simply call our office for Dr. Nail’s emergency contact number. As a children's dentist, Dr. Nail reminds parents that young children who fall and injure their mouths should be seen promptly to assess the problem. You can rest assured that help is always available after hours, over the weekend and even during holidays.

Teeth Whitening
Medications, coffee, tea or cigarettes — even dark soft drinks — can take the dazzle out of your smile. Fortunately, using cosmetic dentistry procedures, Dr. Nail can help put the shine back in your smile with a variety of teeth whitening options:
In-office Whitening Our professional whitening system gives patients a brighter smile.
At-home Whitening This procedure creates a more gradual whitening of your teeth. Impressions are taken of your mouth and a custom-fitted tray is created. You take home the tray and special whitening solution, and wear the tray for several hours each day. While some results may be seen in a just a few days, it usually takes one to two weeks to see full whitening of your teeth. Best of all, the cost of at-home whitening is relatively low.
Concerned about your smile? Dr. Nail and the staff at Athens Oconee Dentistry will be happy to recommend the most appropriate teeth-whitening procedure for you.
